and the baltimore county police have already committed to running additional controls at the schools and making hand-held metal detectors available to school resource officers. the teachers are also being called upon to look for signs of troubled students in their classroom. news for you this morning this. is coming out of baltimore city. lauren just mentioned it as a traffic headache if you are traveling in that area. this is also a big news story because six people including a child have been rushed to the hospital this morning following a fire at an apartment building. firefighters right now are battling the flames at 5003 load stone way which is in northeast baltimore. we're told that the fire is on the second and the third floors. again, six people taken to the hospital, including a child. right now we don't know the extent of their injuries, but we are on top of this story. we have a reporter headed to the scene, if she's not there already. stay with us, we'll continue to stay on top of this story, not only on air, but on abc2news.com. >>> police right now calling it a random murder, an nih researcher killed and this happened near his northeast baltimore home. dr. peter marvet, he was found by by his car on monday night, shot multiple times. investigators say he just parked that car and was going home to see his family when this happened. police were

the complaint about the baltimore city fire department. that launched the investigation that landed sean white in jail. >> paramedics are often the first line of defense. the patient is cared for in an ambulance before reaching a doctor at the hospital. but according to a police report, it didn't go that way for sean white back on september 8th. the 31 year old responded to reports of a drunk woman at an apartment. she was not combative, but white began to ram her in the stretcher and lifted her by the neck and smashed her body in the headrest. the people that live here are finding out. >> if that was my mom i would be upset. >> a lot of times they have to put up with all kind of behavior. >> reporter: marvin johnson says he sees the medics here. >> a lot of them get belligerent and arrogant, try to instruct the paramedic how to do his job. >> reporter: a camera outside the building verified the original complained filed by white's colleague. the report says it shows him distressed inside the ambulance the report says the victim started to mouth off and white responded by slapping her across t
